PowerPivot and DAX papers,posts,FAQs,webcasts,samples

My company is investigating option to use PowerPivot and I would like to see how it compares to QlikView. My questions are:
- how much PowerPivot will cost?
- Anybody can compare PowerPivot to QlikView? Any opinion which is better?

Price for PowerPivot for Excel was not yet announced. If you will want to use it with SharePoint, you will also have to buy licence for SQL Server 2008R2 and SharePoint 2010 server. Again, details about pricing will be posted on PowerPivot-info.com as soon as they will become available.

I don't have any experience with QlikView, somebody else hopefully will comment on this. I saw following tweets from Donald Farmer (MSFT, twitter.com/donalddotfarmer) on QlikView and PowerPivot comparison:

- So, the #powerpivot market is much larger than the #qlikview market, but qv are super marketers: will continue to flourish, I'm sure.
- QlikView and PowerPivot target different groups. qv to ppl wanting a specialist tool, pp to XL users needing more / better analysis.

I am not posting this because I think QlikView or PowerPivot is better. I am posting this because PowerPivot is so new, but challanges that QlikView implementers have should be very similar to what PowerPivot implementers will face. And it is always good to know your competitors .

Why you don't try Vizubi instead?

Vizubi is a self-service business intelligence excel plug-in.

I expect PowerPivot for Excel will have no cost. It is bound to Excel 2010, not compatible with previous versions of Office. Anything other than a free add-in would be a surprise to me.
